Neben Indien und Pakistan zählen auch Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan und Maledivien zu der Region Südasien, die früher im allgemeinen als "Indischer Subkontinet" bekannt war. Das Event generierte großes Medieninteresse. Das Hamburger Abendblatt, NDR Info, Deutsche Welle berichteten vom Event.
